The Richmond Metropolitan Chapter's goal is "to mentor and lead the multicultural community and our corporate partners in professional, entrepreneurial, and educational development".

MISSION

As a professional membership organization of Black and African American graduates with MBAs, advanced degrees, and entrepreneurs, the mission of the NBMBAA is to increase the number as well as the diversity of successful Blacks and African Americans in the business community by:

  • Providing innovative programs to stimulate their intellectual and economic growth

  • Building partnerships with key stakeholders who help facilitate this growth

  • Increasing awareness and facilitating access to graduate management education programs and career opportunities in management fields

  • Developing the pipeline of youth by providing a framework to deploy business practices

VISION

The NBMBAA’s vision is to be an organization which leads in the creation of economic and intellectual wealth for Blacks and African Americans.

The Richmond Chapter of the National Black MBA Association was chartered on February 19, 2000 by a vote of the National Board of Directors in Chicago, Illinois.
The Richmond Metropolitan Chapter is the 39th Chapter of the National Black MBA Association and has over 70 members who are entrepreneurs, and employees of both the public and private sectors of Richmond and the surrounding communities.
The core strategies by which we operate are focused on career and professional development, community service, collaborative partnerships with local businesses, and education, specifically targeted at the intellectual development of our youth.
